Baby Song
This is a fun-filled interactive time of music making for parent and child. Kids participate in the singing, using simple instruments and props. They also take part in occasional music programs throughout the year.
When: Tuesday evenings, 6:30-7:00 P.M.
Where: At Scarborough Citadel, in the nursery
Requirements: Open to all children from the Corps or from the community, ages 3 years and under.
Angel Choir
This is an introduction to singing as a group. Kids spend a half hour singing familiar songs as well as preparing simple songs for occasional music program involvement.
When: Tuesday evening, 6:30-7:00 P.M.
Where: At Scarborough Citadel, in the teen room
Requirements: Open to all children from the Corps or from the community ages 4-6 years.
Singing Company
Our children’s choir (Singing Company) is a group where children learn the basics of vocal technique and prepare songs for performance at our church (and occasional special performances outside our church).
When: Tuesday evenings, 6:30-7:10 P.M.
Where: At Scarborough Citadel, in the Chapel
Requirements: Open to all children ages 7 years and over from the Corps (church) and from the community.
Beginners Band
This is an introduction to playing a brass instrument (cornet, horn, baritone, etc.) Children are taught the basics of instrumental technique and theory, and learn to play pieces for occasional music program involvement.
When: Tuesday evenings, 7:15-7:45 P.M.
Where: At Scarborough Citadel, in the Daycare & Teen rooms.
Requirements: Open to all children 8 years and over from the Corps or the community (subject to availability of instruments and a one-time registration fee of $50)
Junior Band
In this group children who know how to play a brass instrument further their skills and learn to play music for performances at our church and engagements outside our church.
When: Tuesday evenings, 7:15-8:15 P.M.
Where: At Scarborough Citadel, in the multi-purpose room
Requirements: Open to all children 7 years and over from Corps or from the community who already know how to play a brass instrument.
Senior Band
The Senior Band is a group of adults who express their faith in God through brass band music. Weekly practices prepare the group to perform in the Sunday morning worship services and oth seasonal concerts. Members also assist with our children's bands as well as support the kettle ministry at Christmas by playing carols in the malls.
When: Tuesday evenings, 8:30-10:00 P.M. (practices)
Where: At Scarborough Citadel, in the sanctuary
Requirements: Adults who want to express their faith in God through music and are able to play a brass instrument beyond the Junior Band level.
